7 Card Stud is an established and popular version of poker for experienced poker players. Every player is dealt two cards face down (the hole cards) and one card face up (the up card). Three other cards are dealt face up, and then a final card is dealt face down. The object of the game is to make the best poker hand using five of the seven cards. The player with the best poker hand wins the pot. In the case of a tie, the players share the pot equally.
- All players put an ante into the pot
- Every player is dealt two hole cards face down and one card face up
- The first round of betting begins:
- The player with the lowest card showing must place a bet
- All other players must decide whether to call (match the bet), raise or fold (see Betting Basics for more information)
- Once the betting has concluded, the dealer deals each player the fourth card face up
- The second round of betting begins:
- The player with the best two card hand showing must bet
- All other players must decide whether to call, raise or fold
- Once the betting has concluded, the dealer deals each player the fifth card face up
- The third round of betting begins:
- The player with the best three card hand showing must bet
- All other players must decide whether to call, raise or fold
- Once the betting has concluded, the dealer deals each player the sixth card face up
- The fourth round of betting begins:

- All other players must decide whether to call, raise or fold
- Once the betting has concluded, the dealer deals each player the final hole card
- The final round of betting begins:
- The player with the best four card hand showing must bet
- All other players must decide whether to call, raise or fold
- Once all the betting has concluded, the remaining players turn over their hole cards and show their resulting poker hand (best 5-card combination of 7 cards)
